DAY 1: TUESDAY, JUNE 6:  FORT COLLINS TO DEADWOOD, SD
Depart Fort Collins. Explore Register Cliffs Historic Site outside of Guernsey, WY.  It's one of the signature stopping sites for pioneers along the Oregon Trail.  Walk around the huge rock and search among the signatures. You can really "feel" the history.  Lunch together in Lusk, WY.  Arrive in Deadwood, SD in the early afternoon where a local guide joins us for a tour of this infamous town.  There's only ONE main street-all that space allows for along the floor of Deadwood Gulch.  The rest of the town clings to the sides of the canyon! Hear stories of life in this boomtown.  "Meet" some of the early residents: Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane, Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday, Potato Creek Johnny and Preacher.  Of course, we'll stop at Boot Hill Cemetery.  Feel transported back in time at Kevin Costner's TATANKA: The Story of the American Bison.  Explore the full Native American Village here and learn about the Lakota culture and their relationship with the bison.  The 17 large bronze sculptures depicting a buffalo jump will take your breath away. Check into our centrally located hotel, the Mineral Palace.  Evening and dinner on own.  You might choose to visit the Celebrity Hotel Movie Memorabilia Museum, shop, gamble or just people watch!       (L)

DAY 2: WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7: DEADWOOD, SD TO MEDORA, ND
Depart Deadwood for Medora after breakfast at our hotel.  Arrive Medora late morning. Visit Chateau de Mores State Historic Site.  The Marquis de Mores founded Medora in 1883 and named it after his wife.  He built a beef-packing plant, hotel, stagecoach line, some stores and the Chateau. The 26-room home showcases original furnishings and is set as it would have been in 1885 to host an aristocratic hunting party.  Step back in time and ride on a stagecoach.  Check into our historic hotel: Rough Riders, which combines comfort and outstanding hospitality with the best of western charm and presidential history.  Tonight, experience the town's signature event:  The Medora Musical.  Start the evening with a Behind The Scenes Tour and see just what it takes to produce this outdoor extravaganza.  Dine at the unique PitchFork Fondue amidst the breathtaking beauty of the Badlands.  Settle in under the stars to watch the high energy music and variety acts honoring local history and Teddy Roosevelt's time in Badlands.  This 2900 seat, outdoor amphitheatre provides a truly unique experience.

DAY 3: THURSDAY, JUNE 8: TEDDY ROOSEVELT NP & MEDORA LOCAL
After a chuckwagon breakfast, a local guide joins us for a visit to Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  This park honors our 26th president’s commitment to conserve our national resources. Enjoy some great critter watching amidst some of the most breathtaking scenery in this country. Hear stories of the early history here, the first inhabitants and explorers and learn just how and why this wonderfully unique natural wonder came to be.  Picnic lunch is included.  Return to Medora in the early afternoon for A Teddy Roosevelt Salute to Medora.  TR comes to life in this one man show. Get to know the other sides of this president:  Husband, father, soldier, hunter and Badlands rancher.  Dinner and evening on own.

DAY 4: FRIDAY, JUNE 9: MEDORA TO FORT COLLINS
Depart after breakfast for our journey home.  It's a long one, but we'll have fun stops along the way.  Stop at the Geographic Center of the US, just outside Belle Fourche, SD.  Lunch together in Newcastle WY at the Newcastle Country Club.  Once a contaminated industrial site, it is now a nationally recognized premier golf club.  Learn what it took to make that journey from contamination to reclaimation from our guest speaker.  Arrive back in Fort Collins early evening.
